Dr Stephen Lightfoot MBBS, MRCGP
Dr Lightfoot, qualified at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1976. He then served in the Royal Air Force as a medical officer until joining the practice in 1982. Dr Lightfoot is currently the Asthma and Respiratory lead GP for the practice and also enjoys acting as a medical officer for the Jockey Club providing emergency cover for race meetings in the North. He acts also as a representative for the Medical Protection Society providing support to doctors for patient complaints and ombudsman enquiries.
Dr Lightfoot is the GP tutor of the practice, which takes Leeds medical students on a regular basis and is an honorary lecturer at the University of Leeds. Dr Lightfoot has been appointed as an appraiser to his colleagues by the combined Leeds Primary Care Trusts.
