Clinics We Offer

maternity

Antenatal Clinic

The Antenatal clinic is run on Thursday mornings at Collingham and Friday mornings at Thorner with the Community Midwife in attendance.

Contraception

We provide a full family planning service. All the doctors and practice nurses are happy to provide family planning advice during their usual consultation times. Smear tests are offered to all women where appropriate.  Some of the GPs provide a full service including IUCD (coil fitting) and contraceptive implants.

injection

Joint Injections

We are able to inject a wide variety of joints for various conditions (including but not exclusive to osteoarthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, capsulitis of the shoulder, plantar fasciitis and subacromial bursitis). Our joint injection service is free of charge. If you and your GP agree that you require a joint injection you will be referred to one of our skilled GPs for assessment and an injection. We use sterile single-use instruments and follow aseptic techniques to ensure the lowest possible risk of infection and the best possible results from our joint injection service.  Dr Eyre can undertake joint injections.

Long Term Condition Clinic

The clinic combines the overall care for diabetes and coronary heart disease with other vascular conditions such as high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease, peripheral arterial disease and cerebrovascular disease (strokes and TIAs). The reason for this is that many of the checks and tests are the same, and many patients have more than one of these conditions.

Furthermore; we have developed this clinic in a scheme called “Year of Care”.   This works in a step wise manner with an initial appointment with the health care assistant and then a follow up “care planning” appointment with the nurse 2 weeks later. Between these two appointments; you will receive a copy of your results and be able to compare them to previous ones and think about what goals you want to work on to help improve your health. In some cases; you may need an appointment with the GP for a medication review or to discuss any other concerns relating to your long term condition. We hope this system will add more to your long term care and motivation to succeed in improving your health outcomes.

blood test

Phlebotomy Clinic

We have specially trained staff who are able to take blood for testing. There are clinics available at both Collingham and Thorner Surgeries.
